The Paiva Footpaths are located on the left bank of the Paiva River, in the municipality of Arouca, district of Aveiro. These walkways extend for a distance of 8 km along which it is possible to experience a fully immersive walking tour through landscapes of indescribable beauty. In this authentic sanctuary of nature you can observe species that are currently endangered in the European region. This route reaches the fluvial beaches of Areinho and Espiunca, with the Vau beach located between these two.
Arouca Bridge 516, is a suspension bridge that is 175 meters above the Paiva river, located in the centre of Arouca Geopark, recognized as a UNESCO territory. This pedestrian bridge stretches 516 meters long, and allows you to cross over the Paiva River, considered one of the wildest rivers in Europe!
